Who we are

SEND is an independent, parent and carer-led evidence project.

We collect honest, anonymous experiences from families to understand how the process of getting support is working in practice — and to build a clear record of where delays, decisions and barriers are affecting everyday life. 

How we work 

All public statements, publications and use of evidence are agreed collectively by the small team behind SEND.
Quotes and statistics are checked, anonymised and combined so no child, family or school can be identified.

We do not publish anything without careful review to ensure it is accurate, respectful and rooted in lived experience.

Funding & independence 

SEND is fully independent. It is currently supported by small contributions from parents and carers.

We have no links to political parties, public bodies or external organisations.
This independence helps us remain focused on what families tell us is needed.
